The past school year has proven to me how lucky I am to have been placed at a school that has been extremely welcoming and beneficial to my teacher education. The staff at Kathy L. Batterman has shown me the positive effects of working at a school that upholds an optimistic learning environment and pushes both teachers and students. My fellow student teachers helped share my feelings of highs and lows (mostly highs!) and I am grateful for their support and their steadfastness. I am especially appreciative of Mrs. Winston for sharing her classroom, her lessons, and her wisdom with me. Most importantly, I feel indebted to my amazing students who allowed me to be apart of their first grade school year and who managed to teach me more than I taught them.
